I am learning a lot about my new CJ which is fun. I have a very large bumper with some air compressor/air tank attachments on it. I am not sure that I understand what is going on with it. I guess the bumper can be filled and take air around for airing up tires, etc. or can a compressor be attached and run thru the battery power to be able to use air tools... as always any and all suggestions welcome. I have some pictures to show a little more of the story.

looks to be an air tank ..usually one fitting will have a valve stem for filling it and a quick disconnect on the other fitting to attach the hose to..that small of a pipe won't carry a lot of air unless you have a high psi compressor to fill it with...I guess you could have an onboard compressor and pipe it to it if you wanted to

The side with the hose clamp likely went to an on board air compressor at one time. Is there an A/C compressor (or an empty mount for an A/C compressor)bolted to the engine?

there does not seem to be any signs of the compressor. this jeep had been gone thru what appears to be several times by previous owners. who knows what may have been done!

Does it hold air?
