Well everyone form SoCal
anyone interested in do a Jeep-CJ run at Calico the Saturday following thanksgiving? I am usually there that weekend and do a few trails. It is always a blast. I will have my CJ6 out so the trails will be easy to moderate.
She is my baby.

If only my CJ was a little more reliable... Or I had Trailer / tow rig...

I'm in Sac, so 6 HR's about...

One of these Day's I'd love to come check it out though

It is a beautiful place to wheel
and has some real wild west history
We go there every Thanksgiving Week
I make a mean turkey Stew over the campfire cowboy style, large dutch oven hanging from a tripod over the fire.

This sounds really good Baja! I was going to Panamint valley prior to T day and had to abort so I need a new focus. Give some more details please! I can't see why not at this point.:chug:

well Sasquatch
Calico is a huge wheeling destination
between a really killer Ghost town that is a state park and you can walk it and see the historic building, go shopping and watch a few cheesey gunfights
or going on one of my personal tours of the mining history of the area
it also has a lot of trails and is just one beautiful area, it is a rock hounds dream
there are famous archeological sites there and is real close to a few other historically nice towns
There are 2 really difficult trails, which the CJ6 does not go on, and a tone of other trails, What ever you decide, give me a shout, I will meet you up there and give you a tour.

Sounds great!
I've driven past the tourist site numerous times but never stopped. I would be into the personal tour for sure and I'm not into leaving paint all over the trail either but do like a little challenge.;)
The Jeep is 100% ready to go and the only glitch I could see might be weather.

sent a PM

the forecast as of Sunday is a few showers on Thursday and clear for the weekend.
this will not have any extreme wheeling done, bring out the CJs

if you are coming up the 15 north, the first Calico Ghost town exit and turn under the freeway and the 76 is right there on the right.

Anyone else want to show up?
this will happen on the Saturday after Turkey Day

well I pulled the 67 forward and got it started
it has sat for a year and a half, but I am up and running again so I finished the rear brake lines and connected them up, I need to bleed them tomorrow
was amazed it ran so good, took awhile to get to run smoothly, I guess having nor prepped the fuel I had some gum in the carb and having an oil bath filter I just don't spray carb cleaner into it.
vacuumed it but it needs that again and sprayed it off
we may just have 2 CJ5s up there Saturday.

:chug:

Baja and I will be meeting at the Calico 76 Sat. at 9:00am for a day of :driving:
Any others?

Sounds fun. I'd love to meet up with you guys but I will be in Phoenix with my 2 sons. Hopefully we can meet up during another Jeep-CJ Trail ride.

Thanks Busa! Some day will get it together, Baja(trail boss) says this area we will be exploring is full of mining history and good trails. I'm looking forward to it.

Yes guys, we will be wheeling basically easy to medium trails
we are going do some great historical stuff even a street jeep can get to
OH we will stop off to watch the guys with the built TJs and JKs go and beat the :dung: out of them
but I love my CJs to much to do that
some of the vistas will be great
As Of now I have the CJ5 build finally finished and just need to drive it around for an hour or 2 this afternoon to identify any bugs I need to fix.
And then it is off to Calico Saturday
Plus this is an official Jeep-CJ.com event and Cj is sponsoring the gas. Save the receipts guys.

Nice!

Have fun Guys, and please hopefully some pics in trips and trails section to help me live vicariously
