Calico thanksgiving weekend

Calico thanksgiving weekend
Well I got the 67 in great shape today
4 disc system all working and no leaks
engine running good, put 10 bucks in the tanks so I can do a 1 hour drive tomorrow and test it all out
now, the CJ6 will not start and the parts to build the ignition all over again seem to be special order
So I will drive the 67 up, this will be fun with 4.88s in it. It is only 90 miles

Driving Directions | Yelp

If I had not committed to taking some famliy out with a few other Jeeps. I would be there!

It's a bit of a drive but I looked up and really enjoy the Old West so that sounds fun! If you get a chance after (or during:D) post up some pics when you're not too busy having a great time!!!

this would make a great spring Jeep-CJ.com spring run. we could say we are doing a prerun this weekend and plan a a presidents day weekend Official run.
that way we could have one day for trail runs, and a day for the Ghost town.

it would be a great family event.

plau if we camp remote in Mule canyon, camping is free, but you better be self contained or tent camping.

what do you think?

I think when the report gets posted with pics the idea may gather some momentum.

My wife may or may not go but I am pretty sure I would be up for that. I have been watching to see what sticks on these planned trips. I actually have a bro in Co where Dave is but I can't do a week.

Maybe CJ can do a mass PM announcing the trip threads once they are decided.

I wish I could make it this Sat, but my daughter flew in from college to see us. A spring time trip sounds like fun! Last time I went to Calico area was 20 years ago. Side note, a couple buddies and myself are planning a trip on the Mojave Road in March. We are going to pre run it in my 8 and a Chevy CC 4x4 to see if it would be suitable to take the Deuce's in the future.

It all started with an axel seal leaking. Got out of hand from there.
