Can't get my winch off!

I designed mine this way. Winch mounts to the plate and bolts are concealed to remove from plate. Plate mounts to frames, but also has few hidden spot welds to make removing it a "I want to do it" thing...

Sometimes winches walk away... I prefered to leash mine a bit.

Perhaps PO (I'm assuming PO installed or you'd have known how it went on, thus how it comes off) was like me - selfish

Success!! It took a bunch of swearing, but I got it off. I was just able to get the open end of a 9/16 wrench on the nuts.

Gotta love the PO's electrical tape wrapped washers for spacers!

You need to move to East Texas if you think that is funny. You're living a sheltered life. Over there tape and wire are the only way to repair anything, unless you have a bungee cord or some string!

I've done that type of stacking a few times myownself.

The hard part is behind you. Now all yo have to do is do what you need to with your turn signal, do some clean up and remount it in a way that allows access to your light. Believe me I understand that problem. My winch clears my turn signal bolts by about 1/8". If the light needs maintenance I'll have to remove my winch to do it.

I've done it as well, but I weld the washers together now. .... Come to think of it, it's been a long time since I needed to stack washers for a spacer.

Yeah, I may get a new winch that is more centered between the frame rails. This current winch is an ancient no-name brand, so I am not sure I would trust it. As far as the spacers go, I am thinking if I need them again, I will get some steel tube and cut some lengths off and weld them to the underside of the base plate.

If the winch works well and does it's job. Save the $$$$ for other Jeep fixes.
The stacked washers is 'old school' fast fix for sure. But it works when needed.
