I have a weber carburetor that needs to be rebuilt. My brother is telling me to buy a demon. Should I buy a new one or tackle a rebuild of the weber? Have not done much work on a carb yet but think I could figure it out. What do y'all think?

I have never like the weber on a Jeep all though the are a great carb they just are not a carb for a off road. I think the best carb for a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l is MC2100. IMO

I have not had good luck with Weber. I know some swear by them and if you have one that works rebuild it or move on to the MC2100 (Motorcraft swap).

I took my weber off and put an mc2100. Never got the flat spot out of it which was worse then the dieseling problem I had from the weber. Took the mc2100 off though and put a holley from an old dodge with r number R6452A and it was like I bought a new jeep. I bought an offy intake and swapped to a holley four barrel and the gas mileage increased but the four barrel just isn't as fun as the two barrel
