Hi
I want to know if someone use the centerforce high inertia flywheel?
thanks

I use their high performance disc and pressure plate, but haven't used their flywheel?

Are you in need of a new flywheel anyways or?

Yes , in the same principal , but in the Odd Fired Dauntless Buick 225 V6 motors years ago.........when in 1965/66 Buick / Jeep / Willys added a 52 lb. flywheel to the new V6 option to help mask the odd firing sequence of the Dauntless Buick 225 V6 .

In your case it would really depend on your current use of the Jeep........off road maybe?.......on the street probably not!..........or if you already have low gears..........not really needed.

Any extra weight to the engines rotating assembly especially in a heavy flywheel comes with a penalty that Center-force doesn't fully address as for each use you have to once again re-accelerate the mass to gain RPM's........

Once the heavier inertia / mass is spent...........the motor again using it's available horsepower has to re-accelerate the mass to gain RPM and speed.......like having a ball and chain tied to your leg in a track event.

Some of the off road guys see some benefit during slow rock crawling to help keep the motor running at low rpm's...............

I believe a better all around solution is by using a compound low Transmission and low gears in the axles or even better a low first gear Transmission that also has OD in 4th or 5th............In the early Jeeps we used a Dana 18 TC that also allowed a two speed Warn Overdrive .

I proved that point many times years ago by using a lighter flywheel under 28 pounds and even tried an aluminum flywheel at 19 lbs that showed promise but due to having to re-gear everything I kept the 28 pound steel flywheel.............

The gear ratios gave me mechanical advantage to accelerate , climb and brake when needed without paying the extra penalty of accelerating the extra mass all the time.

Hello jr74cj5 this centerforce high performance is good? and pedal pressure is lighter than the old cluth?

about the centerforce high inertia flywheel I spoke with centerforce and I can´t use in cj´s only wrangler 4.0
thanks

on the clutch kit - no - a little harder than the stock pressure plate, and may not be needed depending on what you use your jeep for.

For me, I rock wheel a lot and I wanted the best friction and strength for the clutch disc to not spin and burn up during heavy use.

however, the force required to push in the clutch and pressure plate fingers is not outragious and can be done with stock clutch release system (for me was linkage style release) I went from linkage to hydraulic and the pedal operates so much smoother and easier not. Almost effortless.

Linkage was good as far as leverage and easy operation, but would bind on me with severe flexing.

Cable worked good for my uncle for not biding, but cable broke once and it was a pain to rig to get home. Also his cable system was a beast to operate - very tight and required a lot of force...

Hydraulic does not bind, no cable to break, and is very easy and smooth to operate. Potential risks are broken hydraulic line, faulty master or slave cylinders, leaks, and different to adjust...

Hope this helps and not sure what your using jeep for or what "tough to operate" would mean to you vs me...
