I am presently restoring a '52 M38a1. It has a chain control assembly. After a couple years I'm finally starting to put everything back together. It has an old "Pinto" engine in it. I owned a Pinto way way back in the day. I don't want to talk about it. Anyhow it has a chain control. I have a hundred pictures but I just need a verification from someone. With this chain control, this negates the need for the clutch release bellcrank and the clutch rod...right? I should have thought about all this a couple years ago, but alas I am old and my memory is shot. That's the truth and I'm sticking with that.

Also, with the chain assembly the chain pulls the lever on the bell housing forward towards the front of the jeep. With a traditional set-up it pulls back. Could somebody explain that please?

Thanks; -G

I did see some web info on those, you could look them up, after that just give Advance Adapters a call.
