Chrome wheel clean up?

Got my hands on some old factory chrome rims that need some TLC. They're not too bad but I understand that there are some treatments that can really make these look new. On a thread on another site I read about acid washing but don't know what that is or who could do it for me. I'm really a DIY guy but am willing to pay for services beyond my abilities or outside my equiptment resources. Anyone have any suggestions, recommendations, or ideas? I can post a photo of the rims later tonight.

S.O.S. pad or crumpled up aluminum foil can work well. Also... pouring real Coca-Cola on them takes rust of of chrome if it sits a bit...

I am assuming you have not mounted the rims yet?

I would take the bullet shaped "crown" off the center of the rims so you have more room to work and you won't crack your knuckles working on them.

S.O.S pads work great and then put some wax on them helps it from comming right back.
