CJ-5 skid plate

I think the skid plate on my 5 isn't the correct one. It extends beyond the outside of the frame 2-3 inches. Does anyone have a good photo of a late model 5 skid plate in their album?

i've got a 79 CJ5 and the skid plate protrudes past the frame rails just as yours does! i'd be willing to bet that the outer mounting holes will fit nicely on a
CJ7 ! i don't know for sure but i did observe this difference recently when i
rebuilt the Transmission and replaced the clutch.. hope this helps... radman

Yeah theres actually two places on the frame to mount the skid depending on motor/Transmission /tcase combo.
