CJ Door question

Is there an aftermarket door latch assembly that will replace the paddle style (82-86) with the earlier latch style? I acquired a soft top witht he later model cj type doors that are the paddle with door strikers, but wanted to use with the latch style. Or is there a way to modify it to work?

sure you can buy the old style latches and weld the paddle holes up in the doors. you would probably need one of the old style doors as a reference as to where to cut the new holes for the old style latch. but it would be a whole lot easier to just buy some strikers to bolt onto your tub for the new style doors, or maybe trade somebody for an older set of doors.
