My daughter is looking to buy a CJ but might have to get her a yj and add a front clip. I gave my fenders/Grill/hood away for those in need and I was thinking a fiberglass clip might be easier to do instead of trying to find decent CJ metal.

Also, winch applications in a concern. I have only saw the hoods tilt forward.

Thanks,
Jim

I have an older Shell Valley one peice front end. I have it hinged off the regular hinges and use my latches at the bottom of the fenders. It has been like this since 1993. As you can see the Mile Marker 10,000 pound winch fits just fine and does not interfere.

Mine can flip open either way. With the warn 9.5 winch I have to open it from the front so it uses the hinges that are in the stock location.
I don't have any pics of the "hood" open but I could get you some if you want me to.

That would be nice to see the entire set up so I can show her.

Thanks again,
Jim

P.S. Nice web site

The tilted forward pic is the only one I have, is form when I just got the body on, I didn't even have the windshield on yet LOL.

It does have alot of room but the hood gets heavy after a few years of open the whole front end up every time. Plus if you aren't lifted very high, the lower part of the fenders could contact the wheels when trying to open it up. also if you are off road and break down while the tires are up on a rock or something you will not get the hood open. I have had all these issues over the years.

I'm thinking about making mine open both ways.
