1974 cj5 currently in process of body off restoration and installing fiberglass tub
I was in the middle of restoring my 74 CJ5 when I found out our first child was on the way. I knew if I didn't get it back on the road before then I never would so I put a couple pf good coats of por 15 on the frame, after evaluating the tub I bought a used fiberglass tub which took more time because it was reinforced with wood and glassed over. Having holes for seats and sitting outside the wood was rotten so I replaced all the wood and glassing back over it I didn't have a way to mount it so I fabbed up a mounting system and put it all back together with new fenders and windshield frame. With the financial situation I opted for a flat black spray paint paint job. After all the work I've put in it makes me sick when it even gets dusty. I've decided to use it more of a cruiser and was wanting some input on making it more safe and comfortable (roll cage nice seats flooring dash updates center consoles) as of now it rhino lined with high back buckets with a stock dash and no console so any input.is greatly appreciated! Bring on the pics!

The forum police are always watching, they rarely let you know that they have presence though... :chug:

 So true.

In my opinion, there isn't a whole lot you can do to a jeep "interior". I use that term loosely, because I don't consider where I sit in my jeep an interior. When I get home I smell like exhaust and dirt and my farmers tan on my left arm is renewed.

Looks like you are doing a new tub so it'll be all nice. Just clean up the dash with a paintjob and replace the gauges if you want to spend the money.

Then just pick out whatever seats you want to use. I would say never use carpet, but you will be fiberglass so you can. But it just gets all dirty.

I plan on getting some sort of a console for mine so I'm not having to watch whatever I have with me bounce around on the front seat.

In my gallery, I have a picture of a box I put under the drivers seat of my CJ5 . Hard to tell from the pic, but it opens from the front, swinging down. I made the box in an hour or so from wood I had laying around and use it all the time. A great little way for some badly needed storage...
