CJ7 Tub Alternatives

I am building a 79/84 CJ7 . It is proving difficult to find a CJ7 tub so:

Do I have any options, other than a CJ7 , for a tub? I have the dash from a CJ7 already, but at this point all I want is a solid tub that will mount to my frame (80 CJ7 ). I also have the seats out of a 79 CJ7 but would guess that they could be modified to fit just about anything.

You can use a YJ tub. You will have to make two body mount changes but other than that it it is a direct bolt on.

I've heard that, but what about all the parts I salvaged from my 79 donor CJ7 ? will the dash, searing column, seats, etc work?

The tubs are vary similar you will have to change a few openings and decide if you want to keep your CJ rear tailgate or go with the YJ tailgate, I am in the middle of swapping a YJ tub on my 83 it is not to hard and much cheaper than forking out for the new steel or fiberglass bodies. How's the progress coming on it?

Another thing with the YJ tub is the fuel filler neck. On the CJ, it's on the passenger side. On the YJ, it is behind the license plate on the driver's side. So you'll either need to source a new fuel tank, or take the easier option of cutting out one hole and patching the other.
