well got the frame most of the way welded back up, now for what kind of rear bumper i want
(it's gonna be solid and tied in to the frame on inside and out, and a gusset on each side since there will be a receiver in it)

Tubed or rectangle??????? not sure yet!

My vote is for rectangle. I just like the shape better then a tube bumper.

Here's my vote. I love these.

I like the beef and look of the rectangle bumpers as well. Especially if you mean those great big 4" tube jobs. Not a fan at all! The 1" / 1 1/2" bent tube truss type bumpers are pretty cool though.

This is what I'm putting on mine now

I can dig the square bumpers, especially if they have an angle or 2 instead of just square. Easy to put a receiver and recovery points on also.

frame is almost done
link to pics is in my webshots
i need to find out how to get my signiture back up so its easyer to link

alittle bit of work that has been done hopefully will have the axels back under it by next weekend after i paint the frame
I anly need to weld a few more spots before I am done with the frame

The one good thing i have gotten out of this build is i have learned how to stick weld

I agree, those are some pretty nice looking beads and a stout looking bumper. :)

If you don't mind me asking, what are you using on the frame. I have been using Por-15. It is coming out nicely and pretty easy to use. I will post pics when done in my thread.

Im not sure yet, but I have a gallon of gloss black frame paint
the same stuff they use on semi's

but i might do the por15
and the marine clean for the prep

IMH experience, the POR-15 will hold up a lot better than just frame paint. I've seen too many older semi trucks with corroding paint on the frames. Did you know the newer truck frames can be powder-coated? thats the way to go!

I wish i could get it powder coated
the guy told me 1000 to powder coat the frame
and i also have to take it 280 miles to do it

almost finished puttting POR15 on the tub
