Clutch Issues

I've got a question about some increasing trouble I've had getting into second gear in my 1980 CJ5 . Until recently, finding 2nd really hadn't been an issue except for occaisionally when I had to slide it into 3rd before pulling it back into 2nd. Now, going from 1st to second fails pretty much every time and I have to go 3rd then back to 2nd. I know that my clutch has seen better days and could probably afford to be replaced, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this specific problem and there might be a smaller part of the clutch (like the pressure plate maybe) that I could replace instead of the whole thing? Since It's just in specific gears, it sounds more like a tranny issue to me. Sounds like roasted synchros.

Sounds like it might be worse than I thought...how extensive a repair would that require?
