1980 cj5, stock 304,t176,dana 300. 1984 cj7, 258, t-5,dana 300, 4 inch lift w/33's. Soon to have a 401, t-176, dana 300
My question is this: I'm putting a 401 that I bought from a fella who had it in a 77 cj with a T-150 , the bellhousing, flywheel and clutch came with the 401..... My jeep is an 84 CJ7 and Im putting in a T-176 ,, question: will the T-176 bolt right up in place of the T-150 ? Using the existing bell, and clutch supplied with the 401? What about the pilot bearing? Thanks for any input.

Yes. a T-176 should work in place of a T-150 .
The input shafts are the same length so the 401 bell-housing will work. I think the T-176 has a bigger diameter input shaft so just make sure the clutch friction plate will work with a T-176 and everything else should fit up.
