Hey there, my 72 CJ5 seems to be leaking a bit of coolant from behind the front passenger side tire. It looked as if it was coming from some sort of drain line behind the tire, and now it looks like it is leaking from the undercarriage where the heater box could be. Does this sound like it could be a bad heater core? Anyone have any idea?

That sounds exactly like what it is. http://www.jeep-cj.com/forums/f49/blazer-motor-upgrade-15812/ is the link where you will find detailed instructions on replacing the heater core and upgrading the motor to something that will actually blow hot air to the window!

This is on my list before that goes back in.:chug:

The first thing I would look at would be the heater hoses going into the firewall.

Ditto. The hoses maybe rotten. Stock heater cores aren't too expensive either. A bit of work to change, but can put out way more heat than a 41 year old core.

My heater core leaked on in inside through the seams. :D
