Ive got a leak coming from the front of the engine. Looks like the crankshaft seal might need to be replaced. I took the grill off and radiator off but how do i get to the seal? i cant seem to get the crankshaft pully off. View attachment 6646

You have to remove the crank pulley. The pulley itself rides along the seal on the block. Also, be sure you inspect the pulley carefully for burs, grooves, etc. Take some emery to the pulley surface where it rides against the seal and be sure to oil it before you reinstall the pulley on the crank.

I cant get the pully to stop rotating when i try to undo the center bolt. I tried to get my friend to put it in gear (manual) and hold the brakes). Shouldnt there be some kind of bolt that loosens the belt first so i can get it out of the way?
Hanyes manual makes it seem so easy to do but for some reason i cant get the bolt to budge.

I was able to get the bolt off but realized i need a pulley remover. What is the reasoning behind marking where the bolt was located? Or do i mark it after i take the pulley off?

There is a torque spec on that bolt....I've never worried about marking it, just torque it to spec and you will be golden.
