CS130 alternator to fit

The 130d has a safety switch. If the heat inside the alternator goes above 280 degrees it cuts out.

Does it reset or is it a 1 time deal?
With summer desert temps. Don't think it would be hard to pass the 280* mark with the engine off and sit'n and 'cooking' so to speak after playing some.

It will reset when cooled down.
If it were me in a warm climate I would go with the 130 not the 130d
Both have lifetime warranties so why not the 130

Let us know how it goes... I wouldnt mind swapping alternators and losing a few ponds in the process. What pulley will you use the original serpentine or a V belt?

The bolt spacing seems to be the same, although they are metric for the CS130, with a 8mmx1.25 on top and a 10mm clearance on the bottom. My '86 has the serpentine belt.

Also found out using that alternator from AZ, the pulley will have to be swapped out as it is a 5 rib serpentine where the CJ has a 6 rib serpentine belt. The adjustment bolt on the backside seems to be on the wrong side in the pic:Duralast Gold Alternator DLG1352-5-11- ReadReviews onDuralast Gold #DLG1352-5-11. So a little altering is going to be needed here. My Social Security check came today, so maybe Wifey will let me spend some of it.

Update: Yes, Lumpy whiskey is a necessity. So after tons of research, It seems that the 105 amp CS130 is not a direct fit into the late CJs as the rear mounting hole will not line up even by rotating the rear housing. So, I went with the 94 amp 12SI alternator which is a direct fit and give me a little more help when I need it. Thanks guys for all your help.

Which is for my '86 w/AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l , plus a few other vehicles also. I did notice that it had the correct mounting clocking. plus the rear mounting hole was in the correct location, along with electrical hookups and correct serpentine pulley.

Is that the correct pulley for our Jeep serpentine belt?

2 1/4" at the grooves there Lumpy. This would be a critical dimension for the serpentine belt as the alternator has little adjustment. I had to increase the oem length to 87.8" to account for the onboard air clutch pulley.
