I live in central connecticut and we are getting slammed by wet heavy snow since 2pm. We have 1 million with out power so far. I took a drive through the woodsie back roads and trees are bending over power line and many are half down in the road. The leaves mixed with snow is too much weight. My tall oak lost a large branch so far. We have never had a storm like this so early in the year. To top it off we can here thunder in the clouds. Pretty crazy stuff.

What is thing called 'snow' that you speak of? :)

Seriously, been watching updates on the news, you all are getting hammered! Good thing you have a Jeep!

I got called into work for a flow transmitter that died because they are having brown outs every hour and it wreaks havoc on automation controls. I work in a dairy plant and they never shut down. So I went to leave my neighborhood and two out of three ways to get out were blocked by a fallen tree. I went back home, loaded up my shovel and tow straps just in case. It took me 40 minutes to go 10 miles.

Actually CJ I drive my 4wd Tacoma in the snowy weather. The CJ5 with wide mud tires and a v8 make for an interesting ride in slippery road conditions. It was much better when I had the 6 cylinder in it. The power was easier to manage with wheel spin. when I get my Scrambler built though that will be much more stable and fun to drive in the bad snow.

Morning damage report. I lost three trees and my big oak drop eight branches. One land two feet from my pool. These branches are big enough they would have ruined the pool. Looks like i get to play with my snow blower and chain saw in one day. My poor jeep has over a foot of snow on her. This is just insane. At least i have power. My inlaws are stuck at there house without power. They cant leave because the lines are laying on the road to get to the main road. They are stuck.

that may be pushing it a bit!:D

Global warming was a bad choice of names, It may be hard to see the change in temperature but it sure seems to be changing. I can see Dallas county becoming the center of the next Gobi desert. I can't say why or what or who but you gotta admit a blizzard in CT in October? you are going to have to look pretty hard for the last time that happened, I think.
The "Perfect storm" happened in October 1991, hammered the east coast but no snow that I heard about.
Hang in there Kane, this too shall pass.

Snow is like mud, but only cleaner.
