OK, It looks like rain on Sunday, and I aint goin all the way out to Sommers to hang out in the rain. Speak up and lets get a beer and burger meet going instead! Who's in, and where you're coming from will decide where we can make a stand for a few hours.

Yeah, jswatson and I were talking about this today at work. It's a fairgrounds, it's not like there's anywhere to just kind of congregate out of the rain, nor do I want to go wander around in the rain.

weather.com is now saying 90% chance of rain/thunderstorms for Somers, CT

I'm all for meeting up somewhere for a burger and a beer. Honestly coldwater, you're place seems to be right in the middle of the state, is there somewhere good around there?

That's the problem, there's no wheeling. It's a rally, not an ORV park trip. You come in, get parked and stay there unless you want to do the RTI ramp/rock garden. It really is a lot of sitting around, shooting the stuff and waiting on the drawings to happen...

Well that sucks!

Man - down here - we see an opening and we wheel it! Just drive off and see where you end up! :)

CJ this meet is pretty cool because it allows all the Jeep clubs to get together and introduce themselves to people who own Jeeps but my not be in a club and just want some info or see what Jeeps are about. Plus around here you pretty much need to be in a club to wheel because they get all the access rights for offroading because the state of CT are a bunch of tools and everything is closed off or private.

So, what's the plan?

Well CW, Elwood, jswatson, and I had a nice little meet & eat at the Ruby Tuesday in Cromwell. It was a pleasure to meet all of you! :notworthy: :chug:

I ended up going to the show and it was still huge. They had three rock gardens this year that were the main attraction and Iam from Extreme 4x4 was there also. Over it was good but the organizers packed us into the parking area like sardines and the line to get on the rock garden was right in front of the spectators blocking part of the view. Not as good as last year in a lot of respects but some things were better.

2Bad4U and Coldwater it was a pleasure meeting you too. It was defintaly an enjoyable time and I would not mind doing it again sometime soon. Hopefully next time there won't be an :censored: ton of traffic on 95.:chug:

Man you missed a great time...it was just a drizzle part of the day (ok most of the day).
I am a member of NEJEEP and helped set up the obstacle course on sat and then helped spot jeeps through the O course most of the day sunday...it was alot of fun. Ian Johnson from xtreem 4x4 was a real fun and approchable guy to talk too.
Here is a link to pics and vids...enjoy :chug:

It was going to take a straight up nice day to bring me out there. Half the fun is top off Jeepin to the site and back, and not standing in the rain while I'm there! Maybe next year. Aside from that I got to meet up with Elwood, and meet a couple new jeep buddies in the deal. Had a couple beers and enjoyed a nice couple of hours. Definately into doing it again.:chug:

The rally looked like a good time! Maybe next year will work out better, and I might even have my CJ going by then....hopefully!

what was the deal with parking? Why did you guys pack us in like sardines on the field and having half the vehicles facing the back of the others? I heard alot of people complaining that they could not get good veiw of the Jeeps and were discouraged. I gotta admit I was pretty upset to. Half of the field wasnt even used so there was alot of room to let us show off our rides.
