They look a lot better than mine did. I'm surprised mine did fly apart.

Started to put my TH440 Transmission back together, Got everything ready for assembly:

The rebuild kit I bought came with just about everything. The bushings on the Transmission look good, but since I had new ones, might as well replace them. Got everything reinstalled but the pump.

Last part of the interior of this is the pump housing. Went to drive the bushings out of both ends of the shaft housing, and flipped the housing over. It fell off the bench and landed on the floor. When I picked it up, the shaft housing was busted on it. *$#)^%#@*(&^%

Above is a different part, but with the same valve structure. Below is the after picture of the broken pump:

This is part of a series of valves in the pump housing. Looking for a replacement on the internet.

On the valve body of the Transmission , I had a valve assembly that I couldn't get out. There was a spring in the assembly that has some rings broken off of it. The pin that held the assembly in place was loaded in one direction only. I had no way to get it our. So, I ground off some metal just above it. This allowed me to remove the assembly.

Above is the valve in question.. Below is after I ground down some of the metal to be able to remove the retaining pin..

I then drove the pin out and was able to remove this valve and spring.
