Put a Lock Right in the front yesterday, holy:dung: amazing difference.Today I took the 8 back to some spots that rejected me last week pre locker. No match, not even close. :dbanana:

It is amazing how much pull you can get from a locked Dana 30 front, isn't it? It can make driving a little difficult, but if you have power steering it is easily workable.

Glad you like it! :chug:

Not too noticeable with power steering as far as turning, but it wants to pull straight if I let go of the wheel. That's the only difference, a little weird at first but easy to get used to. No more driving with my knee with the hubs locked ;)

That is one of the first upgrades on my list when I acquire a new jeep one of the most noticeable performance mods to do.

I loved the Lock Rite in my old CJ5 . It pulled great off road and really made a difference. If I lived somewhere where it didnt snow Id slap another one in pronto.

To bad ARB lockers are so much for a Dana 30

I have been reading about these, but can't find why these are not good in snow even though I found several threads that mention it like Pete did. I like what they do, but I am really in snow country. I also found this that may be a better fit for snowy areas. POWERTRAX® EXTREME TRACTION SYSTEMS. Anyone have experience with these?

Alpha6 Ive owned a few lock rights they lock when under acceleration and dont always unlock when off the gas. Are a bit clunky when they do unlock. I had one in my CJ5 I drove it on slick roads a few times then parked it the rest of the winter. I ended up in the ditch a few times because it wouldnt turn.

The powertrax is the same thing as the lock right.
Not sure I can explain this good but here goes.
Almost every road has a crown to it so the water will run off.
With a full time (auto) locker they work great as long as you don't loose traction (spin a tire). When you do since both tires a spinning you loose both forward and lateral traction, this makes the jeep want to slide down the crown and off the road.
With an open diff. only one tire spins so the other tire (not spinning) still offers some lateral traction and helps you keep going straight.
The best of both worlds is a selectable locker.;)
