Dana 27 / 30 parts swap?

Over the last week or so I've been hauling home load after load of free-be CJ's and CJ parts. While sorting out the good from the bad, the "I can use that!" from the total junk (ie 2.73 gears) I came across a matched set of scout 800 axles...D27/Dana 44 with 4.27 gears. I'm not realy interested in using the D27 as-is, because of the drum brakes, and I'll probobly never find another (free) set of 10 spline axles for it.

So here's my question, can the D27 ring and pinion be swapped into a CJ Dana 30 ? Or, can Dana 30 spiders be swapped into the D27 carrier?

no i don't think so the ring and pinion are smaller in the d27 the carrier will be smaller to. baja will probably be able to answer you for sure. he knows more about the older stuff.
