OK - From what I have researched, they will swap except for the gears.

One thing I probably should add.
Don't forget to make sure the carrier you try and swap to comes from the same gear range.
There are two carriers for Dana 30 's. One for gears 3.55 and down, and one for 3.73 and up. You cannot interchange those carriers.
So, did you loose a carrier? Find and axle?

My 85 CJ has 2.73 ratio and I saw the 3.55's on ebay and thought I'd check.Thanks

CJ is right you can't interchange gears from HP to LP.
