Just wanted to pass on a helpful tip. I spent some time sorting out my dash lights that would not come on, and I found that the 12v+ tang in the socket base was not making contact with the bulb base. The tiny spring in there was worn out and leaving a gap, so I cut a tiny spacer from a male spade terminal and put it between the socket and bulb. Problem solved. This may be an old trick, but thought I'd share anyway.

I'll have to remember that. Right now, I'm just looking for a light socket for one of my gages. The previous owner replaced the oil pressure gage. The socket didn't fit the replacement, so he cut it off for the replacement. I recently replaved it with an OEM gage and now I need the socket.
