I'm thinking about putting some new body mounts on my '86 CJ7 and I was curious if any of you have had experience with the Daystar replacement mounts KJ04002BK, not the 1" body lift, just stock replacement mounts. I was curious if it nets any lift at all or if the mounts are indeed the same height as the stock rubbers. I wouldn't mind gaining an extra 1/2", but really don't want to do the full 1" body lift (although I had considered buying it and cutting it down) as I don't want to mess with linkage, lines or wires at all.

Current setup is 2.5" lift with 1/2" lift shackles and 31's but I'm hoping to go up to 32 or narrow 33" tires.

Let's hear what you think.

Original body mounts will squat over time and new ones may give you the 1/2 inch that you want or close to it. I've run daystar products and have never had a problem with them.

It's not a "given" that you'll have to lengthen anything if you go with a 1" bl. I've heard of many that had no problem, but all Jeeps aren't created equal. I put a 1" Daystar lift on mine and foresee no issues yet (I'm still assembling) but then my Jeep never had a "previous owner" either.

Well I went ahead and ordered the Daystar stock replacement body bushings. I'll report back in a few weeks with results and pictures.

Just wanted to post an update.
I finally got around to installing the Daystar stock replacement urethane bushings (black). I added a single fender washer at the top of the bushings as well. Measured height at all 4 corners before and after and gained between .75" -1" depending on the corner. My old rubber bushings were really shot, so the extra height isn't surprising. But I think it is safe to say that the stock daystar bushings are good for a small boost in height.
Looks like I should clear 33"s now with my 2.5" lift springs, .5" lift from shackles plus the small boost from the Daystar kit.
