Just venting...
I was out driving the CJ a few days ago enjoying my 351w build when all of a sudden, the motor dies on me and I can't get it started again.
My first thought was the Sniper system failed me somehow. Got it towed home, got on the phone with Holley for some troubleshooting and they thought the ECU failed.
They tested it today and they said that everything checked out. So they said it's probably the Hyperspark distributor that went bad.
I pulled it out and found the gear all chewed up. My heart sank.
What kills me is before I out everything together...before I even purchased anything, I called Edelbrock to make sure I had the right distributor gear. They assured me that the one that comes with the Hyperspark distributor is the correct one. Going to call again tomorrow to confirm.
I've put 3000 miles on the motor since I put it together. Not looking forward to all the work needed just to replace the cam.
Done venting.
