I have an 88 Jeep with a 289 ATK motor
Anybody interested in product like this? www.doorcaddy.weebly.com I developed this myself and I am looking to market it. I got tired of leaving my doors or putting them in the back seat. If anyone is interested feel free to contact me.

I don't usually allow advertising or selling of items with 10 posts are less. I like this though so I'll let it slide (for now), I do hope you plan on participating on our site for the free advertising though.

Please fill out your profile (you had to read the thread). :ww:

One love tap from the car behind you and both your doors are scrap metal. Plus it sticks out very far.

I can undestand your concerns on the dimensions and the possibility of damage during an accident.

I have used mine on my Jeep for 2 years, I have been rearended at a stop light. The lady behind me dropped her clutch at the light and lurched into the back of my Jeep. The 2" 3/8" walled tubing that the Caddy is mounted to put a nasty gash in the hood of her Accord. Had it been a truck with a higher profile, it most likely would had been a different story.

The Caddy actually sticks out less than a typical cargo rack.

I was just tired of being stuck away from home without my doors when a shower pops up.

Anytime you put your vehicle on the road you have to put some trust in the other guys driving ability, otherwise we would stay at home.

Here's my 2 pennies. CJ has done a wonderful job on the structure of this Forum. I like it takes ten good posts before you can peddle your wares on this site, I really like that it is not one giant google ad.
I personally use it to get ideas from CJ owners on projects and products that they have installed on their CJ.

Briansjeep, you sir have done nothing but used this site to peddle you ware, and added nothing of value to the site. Your first 2 posts were written to hock a link to your website and have no other posts dealing with your ride.

As to your product. It would destroy my departure angle, looks like a hacked over hitch hauler, and with the Limited space we have on our vehicles is a one dimensional product. IF I were concerned about what to do with my doors, (I'm not except maybe chain them to a tree) I would want something integrated into other functionality. Do a little market research and read this thread http://www.jeep-cj.com/forums/f49/novel-idea-thought-kinda-cool-7754/ Also accept some constructive critisism. From what I've found there are some very knowledgeable people on this forum. It might improve your product.

I personally think it looks tacky. i would buy a pair of 2 piece soft doors, before i would consider the door caddy. i just don't think it's practical.

Thanks for your two pennies; I am sorry I do not have change for your thought though.
Contrary to your comment I am not hocking anything, nor am I trying to peddle any product.
I am a student at WCC. My assignment for class was to set up a website and get feedback from the site. It was recommended that we use something we are familiar with.
I chose a product I developed for my personal use. Something that was my thought and my design based on a problem I was faced with as a Jeep owner with a family that loved to ride in a topless Jeep.
If you will take note to the website I am trying to "peddle" there is no information listed to purchase this product. As stated in my initial post I wanted to know who would be interested in the product, in order to get feedback for my class.
If you would note the second post is from CJ noting that he does not usually allow advertising. He apparently saw potential in a new product, and also saw that there is no attempt on my part to actively sell this product on here or on my site.
Your argument against this product as being one dimensional and Limited space of a Jeep is more proof that this could be a viable product. No one has to carry the doors in the back seat, allowing passengers or other cargo as well as using the caddy as a cargo carrier itself.
Market research is the very reason for my original post. I have received valuable insight from other Jeep owners and well the concerns of other Jeep owners.
Thank you for adding to my market research.
I apologize to anyone that may have taken my postings as something they were not intended to be.
