Where in the world do you get the door strikers for a CJ?? I have a YJ Tub, with the post style strikers, and my CJ doors have the wedge style latches..

AMC Salvage in AZ should have.

I don't know if its worth coming this far though. And, as most places go, if you sound desperate or don't negotiate it may be pricey. If you end up coming this way, ask for Nick and tell him Rob in the white CJ (007) told you to call. I run some trails with him and get all my hard to find parts from them.

I just went through something similar ,
is the part you need inside the door or the striker that attaches to the body?

Thanks CJ, That would be quite the drive! Is this their address and phone number? Might give him a call and see if he can ship me a pair, if he has them.. And if I ever do get that way, you can show me some good wheelin' spots!

I believe I have one for ya. Not a pair though.

I bought a pair of '83 CJ doors with pin striker handles for $50... It might be easier/cheaper to just buy a new pair of doors and keep the YJ strikers.

Ya, I really want to keep it like it is, and I really like the door handles, old school, you know??

Well that would be one I don't have! The link CJ put up showed several pieces for each side, you know and really, why couldn't I make them? They look simple, just a piece of steel right?? Could you, or anyone, get me some dimensions on these things?? I could make them at work. The only other thing would be mounting them into a YJ tub... no holes or bolt plates..

This pic? I'm not CJ, I'm much cooler than he is, just don't tell him coolgleamA.webp

Until I finally found a set, my original plan was going to be fabricate them. I think it could be done. I can go out to the garage and snap a couple other pics if you want them.

LOL, but the weather is finally nice. Actually, we had a 100 degree day on Friday! New record for time between first and last 100 degree days. First one was April 1st Last was the Oct 14th or maybe even 15th. That's over 6 months!!!

I was born and raised here, but man I get tired of the heat by August or September. Although, it's tough to beat the rest of the year.

Anyway, if you don't find something close to you, that is their number and I am pretty sure they will ship.

Ummm, ya...:o Sorry about that Elwood, if you could, lay a tape measure out with them, and that would be great! You are way cooler than him...:D

Thanks for the kind words CJ007!
I just took a turn around the shop and don't see any of these around...But since that would have been something that the PO of the place would have removed, there might be some in a box I haven't got cleaned out yet :o. I'll keep an eye out for a set as I clean the place up, but I don't have a set ofr you right now, sorry. :chug:

Well thanks guys, hopefully Elwood can come through with some dimensions and I can get some fabricated. They look super easy to make, and if worse comes to worse, I'll just wing it and come up with my own design... oh yaa...

Thanks Elwood!! That's perfect...
