Today I pulled into one of my jobs and there was a Jeep YJ this thing was a monster, running 45" tires so I go up and to him and start the small talk about his jeep and it turned into a very informative session for me here's what he was running just the high lights of our conversation

383 stroker 435hp
all chevy 1 ton running gear
NOS
45" tires
chevy leaf springs
remote cooler
350 tranny
custom built tranny mount
custom built stearing linkages
custom springs

Really nice guy, was telling him about my Jeep and he informed me the best thing I could do is find a solid axel chevy 1 ton truck and swap out all the running gear into it

He definately had a nice looking rig and talked like it performed well, now he has me thinking about the options with my jeep :D

I picked mine up a piece at a time, as the good deal came by. I basically ended up as a 1 ton. I personally never cared for automatic Transmission Jeeps(personal preference). I like the old school king pin style front axle. I also prefer the compound low or granny gear Transmission .

well Yoda, it looks like we lost another one to the dark side. :xj:

just kidding , sounds like the guy did a good job of it. I bet it can kick some sand!!

I am with you on the automatice Transmission , I don't mind it in my work van or my truck but the Jeep has to a manual. If I was to convert everything over I would definately stay with the manual Transmission

Nuff said where's the pics cause natives are gettin restless...

I am sorry guy's didn't get any  He was in a rush and I had a walk-in cooler condensor torn apart, the customers tend to get a little ansy. I will make every attempt to not allow this mistake to happen again, I am now heading outside to receive my 50 lashings with a fan belt as punishment for my error:mad:
