Help Electrical glitch

At times when driving my CJ7 1986 Renegade , an electrical glitch takes over and the Jeep instantly shuts off and will not restart or fire. When I let the vehicle just sit for a couple hours it will start again.
Any ideas?

What type of ignition do you have? Some ignition modules get hot and the electronics out. Once they cool back down they start working again.
