Emissions tube

I have a 84 cj and the emissions tube that goes to the cat is full of holes. It makes the exhaust sound horrible. I have patched with job weld but it only lasts so long. Where can I find a replacement or what do I need to do to replace it?

Those are called air injection tubes, my first guess would be a muffler shop. Crown or Omix-Ada might have something.

Would what make the jeep idle rough? A broken or holed exhaust air injection tube or replacing the old tube?

Was the tube spewing exhaust into the carburetor? I've heard about exhaust valves being broken by running with holes or very short exhausts. Somehow cold air hits the hot valve and breaks it/them. That is most likely not your problem, but I needed to mention it. It's more likely that you need a decent tune up.

It seems to run fine when I patch the tube. But jb weld only last so long.

I would love to remove all the emissions stuff and vacuum stuff I don't need but I have no idea what stays and what goes.
