Has anyone ever seen or heard of XADO Atomic Metal Conditioner. This is supposed to form a metal-ceramic coating on worn engine parts increasing compression, oil consumption and pressure and all that ailes a worn engine. One time application guarantees wear protection of engine up to 100,000.
I'm reading this out of a ad in Popular Mechanics Feb. 2012. At $54.95 a bottle I'm not sure?:) I may just try it to see what the hype is or isn't? Not sure.

I just Google searched this and all I found was a lot of websites selling the stuff....the one "review" I found was so riddled with broken English and misspelled words that it was painful to read (and this was an engine builder in the US).

I dont trust anything that makes the claim of glazing or bonding to surfaces.

But that's just me. I would have to see some serious reviews on this to become a believer :lpopcorn:

I've never been a fan of "bottled mechanic"

IMHO it's all snake oil. I'm not a believer is that kinda stuff.

If only it were that easy

I used some stuff once on an old flathead engine. I forget the name its in a chrome looking can with black label and is sold in different sizes for 8-6-4 cylinder engines. To be honest I think it made my engine use more oil. It had worn rings and it seemed to slick up the cylinders causing more blow by.

I had a rear main leaking in a v6 blazer long ago. I was useing about a qt a month. I tried some of that rear main fix it stuff. Almost instantly I went to useing a qt a day. On another note, I read an article on the internet about coolant flushes. Bottom line was that I quote "all they do is give you a warm fizzy feeling". I do believe in lucas products though. I use their fuel treatment because we get some really bad gas here? I had a 84 corvette that was leaking power steering fluid. I put some lucas in the power steering and it did lessen the leaking and started working.

I know the stuff your talking about its Restore, but I had good results with it, my AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l was using about 1 quart a month and the compression was between 100-125. After use my compression was 135-145 and stopped using oil as much about 1 quart every 2 months. Both were checked with all spark plugs out.
But this atomic stuff I googled the company's web site and this product in the ad wasn't even on the site. So this sounded fishy to me. Thanks for the replies.
My engine has 200,000 plus on it so its getting time to rebuild, but it still has descent power and runs smooth no ticking or weird engine noise. So I'm saving up for the rebuild. :chug: :)
