engine torq/frame snapping/repairs?

hey all, having a issue with my CJ5 , had the truck out and about around a dozen times or so, just noticed today, where the motor mounts bolt to the frame, there cracked all around it, like 3 BIG cracks all the way around the frame, and there all within 1/4" to 1/2" thick cracks, but anyway, that's not my quandary...what im wondering.. after I fix the frame, I want to put something in the motor to keep it from torqing so much that it breaks the frame again, is there any kind of "engine shock" or something that I can fab up to take some of the brute force tourqing of the motor that we built.

That is a fairly common addition to performance vehicle.You could go very simple with a chain between frame and a torque arm on engine driver side.
Or more highly engineered. Summit or Jegs may have a kit.It will help a lot. There are solid motor mounts also for sbc that bolt in.Check with your local race car shop for fabrication ideas.BTW I have a 383 in my jetboat,lots of torque!!! mike s.

Yep, have made a few torque straps before, usually find an open bolt hole on the Left head and angle the strap towards the frame rail at an angle. if you do a solid strap put some rubber bushings on it for vibration reduction

awesome, thanks guys, i made new motor mounts for it plated the frame where the motor mounts are, so far so good, i was thinking of some sort of a strap off of the head down to the frame rail, ill give it a try,
