no major changes except tune up stuff

My exhaust manifold along with the front pipe is orginal on my CJ7 jeep.
With some strong odors, I am starting to go around the jeep to clean it up that can cause so much bad fumes. I would like to replace the whole exhaust system this spring. I know the front pipe needs replaced, I see some holes in the pipe.
How I can I tell the manifold needs replacing? I will be taking it to a local muffler shop, but wanted some knowledge before I head that way. It has a catalytic converter; Tailpipe comes out the back corner of the jeep, not straight or a 90 degree bend.

On a side note I just ordered the Charcoal canister to replace since that is orginal as well and just finish the basic air filter, breathers stuff.
Brands: how important? Borla, Flowmaster, omix, hearthrob exhaust systems. Just know it needs to last and be strong to take the heat of the engine. Any suggestions or thoughts I thank you!

Out of curiosity, where did you find the charcoal canister at? I've been looking for one.

After searching this site and googling it. It seems the model numbers keeps changing and different canisters have different features for certain models. I ended up with NAPA - CRB 220052

I be following the instructions from the steps I believe Rollbar posted.
