got it in. took me about an hour, most of that was messing around with my floor jack and the cherry picker. It also certainly helps when you have the correct tools. A special thanks to our mechanics for loaning me some stuff.
check and re check your distributor. i have seen first hand a few of them put in 180 degrees off. check the timing too. make sure the timing marks on the crank and cam are exactly where they should be.
I rechecked the distributor and made a minor adjustment. Still no joy. I still have gas blowing out of the top of the carb. I guess my next stop is pulling the motor again , pulling the timing chain cover off and checking the timing marks. Anyone have any other suggestions?
