factory tire carrier limitations

just wondering what size tire i factory swing away tire carrier will hold. i have one and wanted to know if it would hold a 33' and like 12.5 wide? anybody happen to know the answer?

Not sure mine was stock mounted to the tail gate. But it held a 33x14.50x15

I ran a 33inch spare on my CJ7 for years... no problem.

Not to bump an old thread, but I am about to try and mount a 33x12.5 on the stock wheel on the stock CJ7 wheel carrier. I hope it works. Did you guys have to support it at all? I don't even think it will fit on there. It looks like it will be pretty close anyway . . . .
