Mine is missing. I am goingto change to a three core and thought I woudl put this back on. Does it make much difference in cooling?

With a 3 core rad I think you will be fine with out one.

Why leave it off? It does make a good difference in cooling and doesn't hurt plus it protects you from possibly getting your hand caught in the even you are in there when the motor is running.

It doesn't look like it protects you from the fan though. Based on the picture from Morris 4x4.com. I could be missing something though

I did make the comparsion with my 2 row, With the shroud and without. It does seem a little better with it so its going to stay on.

Will the Crown 3 core fit with the shroud?

are you talking about the shroud or the 3 core?

if you wheel much then you'll most likely be below 32 mph, so it would help. The shroud creates a suction drawing the air through the radiator and directing over the motor.

He lives in Portland it doesn't get super hot like say Texas and he is going to have a 3Row rad. with a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l I really think he will be fine. A AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l does't run that hot.

Well, maybe I should stay with 2 core and just add the shroud or go for it and get the 3 core and the shroud. Guess, it really doesn't matter. I will be doing som LIGHT off roading in the Oregon high desert this summer. maybe 90 degrees or so.

I have a 3 row with no shroud and she's never had a problem, even in 120 degrees in the Arizona desert. It is however, on a list of things to get someday. I like overkill :chug:

If you get a aftermarket shroud it is not marked but there is a rightside up . I had started hacking on mine before I though maybe it is upside down . Still had to cut out for the bottom hose connection . The shroud makes a noticable difference in cooling .

Where did you buy your fan shroud?
