1974 CJ5
Well this is my 1974 1/2 CJ5 I got for free... it has a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l 6 in it with a T-18 4 speed and a Dana 20 Transfer Case . Dana 30 /44 on it right now, but will have my 350 chevy V-8 with Dana 44 front and rear with 4.27 gears. Found a sit where I can get a set of Hummer tires 37x12.50-16.5 real cheap with 80% or better tread left on them. Also found modified hummer rims to fit my CJ5 for real cheap also, going for the military theme.

Not too bad , and the price was right.

You just need to throw that in the dryer a little longer to get the wrinkles out. :D Honestly though thats a nice platform and like I.O. said you cant beat the price. ;)
some more. I will rebuilding the body hopefully this winter or summer.

The guy I got it from really likes fiberglass, he tried to fiberglass most of the body due to rust. But I plan on replacing all of the bad panels on it.

my jeep was free to. so far its the most expensive free thing i have ever got lol. but i love it.

Are there any panels that are not rusted? It would probably be quicker and possibly cheaper to replace the whole tub with fiberglass.
I wish I could find freebie like that!

Are you sure that's not a 232cid?

I wrapped the outer skin with 14ga. Just flat sheet.

The body mounts were pretty bad. So I put a 1-1/2" square tube frame under it.

It lasted for another 17 years. But last time I pulled it off, I knew it was tub time.

T-18 - nice

350 - nice

Dana 44 - smart :)
