Fixed seat risers??

Having spent the entire summer on other pressing chores, Jeep season is about to kick off again. I'm about ready to stick the drivetrain back on the new frame, and have been thinkin about the interior. Specifically, the seat risers. Every Jeep I've ever had they have been rather loose, and I'm tempted to fab a pair of fixed risers out of angle. figure I can set the height just where I want it and then stick the sliders on afterwards.

Anyone here swapped over to fixed risers and then regretted it?

I fabbed risers to drop the seat as far as possible, 1 3/4". not a problem to put slider on it. the pass side was a flip forward and I replaced it with fixed riser. Be aware that the mount holes on the pass side are the same pattern but are a couple inches out board of the drivers seat mount holes. I did not put a slider on the pass side just spacers to make the two seats the same height. I understand that there were some CJ s that had flip forward pedestals on both sides, are you one of these?

I took my worn out flip forward seats and welded them up and they worked great. I don't have a back seat so I am not needing the flip feature. They eventually had to go since I switched out to more comfortable aftermarket seats and needed a lower riser. There is a fixed factory driver's side seat riser for your CJ also. Custom risers can be made to fit your needs.

To be honest, I have no idea if I'm one of those or not LOL. Didn't have it long before I tore it apart, and I don't remember if the drivers side flipped or not. I just want nice solid risers, and figure I could get em nice and solid and the height I want at the same time. With my luck, I'd go thru the effort to rig up some real nice ones, and then realized it was a dumb thing to do.

If you are going to use aftermarket seats you will just about have to lower them , unless you like to have your head above the roll bal and the steering wheel dragging your thighs.
