Any one else a flashlight junky? I must say that I have a crazy collection... My latest buy puts out 2450 lumina! Love it it but it doesn't compare to my home builds!

My favorite is my mini mag light. Very bright and white light that has high and low beam, emergency strobe flash and will even flash SOS in Morse code.

How cool is that?

I have been eyeing up the rigid industries one for a while now... Doesn't seem real fancy at $80 but everything else rigid seems to do very well. Anyone tried one?

for me mag lights are the only ones allowed in my house. they replace any light if the batteries have exploded. but they have to durecell, rayovac or energizer. i have a 3d, a 2d and a mini mag, nothing better.

I remember when the MagLight Flashlights came out in the '80s. Durable and made out of aluminum. I have one for my CJ. I mounted a tube in my center console to hold a 2 cell D MagLight. But the MagLight is simple, old technology. Want a more powerful MagLight, get one that holds more batteries.
The 2 cell MagLight puts out 82 lumens.
6 cell puts out 218 lumens

New numbers-------------
2D-40 lumens
3D-82 lumens
6D-233 lumens
Magcharger-218 lumens
Mag solitaire-2.3 lumens

Here's where I got these numbers: Maglite's output numbers magically double or almost triple overnight???

But the new LED flashlights are amazing. My Cree is only about 6 inches long but it puts my MagLight to shame. It puts out over 1000 fricken lumens. That's like holding 4 MagLights with 6 D batteries in each. When I go out at night I can point my Cree at the forest across the road from me and it illuminates trees over half a mile away.

CJ your new flashlight puts mine to shame. 2450 lumina! That is like holding 30 two cell MagLights like what I carry in my CJ. This is not for finding a screwdriver in the back of the drawer. Its for turning the nighttime into day.
Does anyone need a flashlight that bright. No, not really.
To make a comparison, does anyone need more than a 22 for target practice? No, not really. They are accurate and ammo is cheap but if you really want to be impressed with firepower try an AR-15.

EDIT: these extreme LED lights usually have different settings so you can set them to low for "only" 300 lumens.

This is what I have in my truck. Has to be the best light I have ever owned. The three different power settings and different lenses that you can get for it make it worth the money to me.

Busa - nice comparison. I love my Cree also (1000 lum). I wanted to do a little step up so I bought the TH15. Do I need it? As you said, hell no! But, checking out the beam tonight I was very impressed at the spread and the focus.

I can't wait for my next buy - I'm looking at the Fenix TK75.

Wow. That's a lot of light. For me, at this point in my life, I would rather have a SS brake line kit for my CJ...and just keep the streamlight on the charger in case I need to find something outside!

I dont have anything except Surefire. I have been using my C2 Centurian since 2003, never a problem and super bright and I have switched the bulb to LED.

I carry a Surefire R1 Lawman...750 lumens, but I prefer my an-pvs7-b. (see pic) Nothing like driving around with the windshield down in complete darkness. Right now I just unplug the rear tail lights, but am thinking of installing a kill switch so it's easier to do. BTW, I will have a couple of sets with me for the Colorado Trail run with BusaDave this year so if you haven't tried them, you will get a chance then....they are awesome!

Got a LED Lenser LED Handheld Flashlight from Lowes on sale for like $40 it's normally like $69, but I used my military discount and the sale to get it cheaper. It's white LED and Red LED with 2 different buttons. It's bright and the red is good to prevent night blindness.
It's only 175 lumens but that's bright enough to make type disappear off paper when you shine it.

How much was that Vampire killing light you bought CJ?
