Frame rear crossmember

77 CJ5 . Does anyone know the length of the rear crossmember on the frame? I'm getting som fab work done to fix a few rust spots. Plan was to tac exact replica over the existing crossmember. However the ends are slightly rusted off and want to make sure all is exact.

You can buy the rear cross member for about $100 from most Jeep parts houses like 4WD Hardware and Quadratrec.

Not sure about the welding over part. Replace would be better.

I bought a replacement for my 75 and it is a lot better than the original. The steel is thicker. Much stronger and it cost around $120 with the shipping if I remember right.
