Freaking sweet

This actually wasn't as cut and dried as it appears. The hispanic store owner (who is also an American citizen) originally flew the flags in an effort to symbolize solidarity in an area that was having some racial problems centered around immigration. He apparently was unaware of any legality's regarding placing the American flag at the highest point or that as in this case, flags of a different nation would have had to been flown on a seperate pole (with the American flag highest). This situation was batted around a couple years ago when it originally occured on many a political forum and most conceded that while the vet acted in an honorable manner, he failed when he displayed disrespect for the Mexican flag.

I'd have asked the guy hey are you aware that you can't fly the flags like that.
Then proceeded as necessary.

All correct. In the current climate of Americans being looked down on, and the immigration issues we face with illegals driving us into the poor house and receiving rights once held only by citizens that fought, for or contributed to the safety and betterment of our country. It's pretty easy to get your back up when you see this kind of disrespect to our beloved country, our veterans, our values, our flag, and our citizens in general. I applaud his efforts to shrug past the political correctness that seems to have paralyzed our country, but having shown disrespect to another nations flag is not acceptable, and if he were still in uniform, that would have landed him an article 15 PDQ. I still think It's great to see that kind of patriotism and passion in am Americans heart though.

You could make it your career cutting down flags in So Cal...

The immigration issue is tricky but I stand in a slightly different position with regards to our 'illegals'. The real bandits are those that hire them...they more than anything else are the root cause of the problems facing us in this arena.
