Has anyone ever grafted a set of the fresh air vents from a Toyota FJ40 or something similar.

My dad had a FJ40 when I was a kid and you could just kick the floor vents open and it would scoop the air into the cab and I would like to do something similar in my CJ7 .

Here is a photo of what I am referring to:

IIRC, my '55 CJ5 had a set like that on each side. maybe look into an early Jeep catalog and see if they still sell them.

Ya know, that's not a bad idea. When I did my chevy heater upgrade, I closed off the plenum intake to keep the cab warmer (think Montana 30 below winters). So basically I have no fresh air unless I crack a window. This has had an effect on my inside humidity levels and windows fogging up...It was a good idea at the time. :dunno:

I am not stuck on that style I just like the ability to get more air moving when I want to and when those small openings scoop air it would blow the dust off the floor boards and really helped out. I know there are other examples you might know of.

Anyone know where I could get a set from the FJ or older CJ?

Yeah, try 4wdfibreglass in New Zealand (4wdfiberglass.co.nz should take you there)

E-mail Steve the owner- he'll be able to produce any parts you need and then ship them to you (size is not huge)

PM sent
