when i bought it thought it was an early 70's but idk now was is the circle right below for my jeep has a patch welded thereCool. Do you have a Civilian Jeep? The military M38A1 had a cover like that. I think it was a battery cover. Nice to make it into a storage compartment.
long story short....
bought a jeep with 1969 title did not have compartment tub was rusted out really bad like no floor boards bad found a good tub came with 1969 title as well but both tubs are very different in the small details of the construction and holes in the tub

yea it had a hard top on with doors and when i went to get it i was fired up about it cause it had a title and price was right so i didnt pay as much attention to it as i should have but that was the biggest mistake ever

I didn't mean to cuase anybody more projects just thought I'd share my Ideas and thoughts plus if u have something good why not share it and say hey everybody look what i did yea u didnt think of it but i did
Maybe I should rename post: Caution may cause one more project!!!!
P.S. TO keep this project cheap and simple I used a cardboard box for the box and used $5 "bed liner" in a can to cover it just to try to make it last till i can make something more permanent; a hinge I found in my garage and a piece a metal for the latch
if anybody comes up with something better then cardboard or wood let me know.... was thinking plastic but not sure yet how to make it work perfect

This one is worth it. A fella can never have too much storage or too many hiding places
hahaThats the truth the best thing about thus jeep us I have tools, York compressor on motor, alternator welder and enough knowledge to fix this jeep if it breaks down on the trials as long as a hard part doesn't fail I can fix it enough to get it home
