fuel bezel and neck question

- 1977 CJ5 304 V8 3 speed Trans Fiberglass front end,
I just switched my 77 CJ5 over to a 78 and newer style tank,neck and bezel.
I installed the filler neck and hoses so the vent hose is on top, but when I go to install the bezel the deep part of the bezel is dowm. putting the filler neck at a down ward angle. is this correct. or do I have something together wrong?
