The previous owner of my new CJ installed a Weber double barrel carb. I know the return vapor line isn't needed with the Weber carb and it looks like what he did was install rubber hose and make a 'Y' style adaptor that connects to the steel gas line and two gas tank holes. When I fill up this leaks pretty badly. Is the best way to take care of this just installing new rubber hose? The gas fill / overflow leak a little bit to so I'm planning on just replacing the whole damned tank but I'd like to keep all the forward steel lines.

I would really like to see a pic of what your talking about. If your running no return line then you should only have one line coming from your talk. How does the jeep run?

The jeep runs fine other than a bunch of leaks and some clutch problems. I'll try to get a picture later today. Basically there is a length of rubber tubing coming from each vent hole on the gas tank attached to a 'T' adapter, and another length of rubber tubing connecting from the remaining 'T' connection to a steel line headed towards the charcoal canister. Is there flex steel tubing that can be used for this? Is it better to have that 2nd tank hole plugged or should it be connected in a 'T' like it is now?

OK.. Kinda got a mental picture of it now. The 2 lines coming off the side of the tank are hooked together and run to the charcoal canister. That shouldnt be a problem, sounds like the PO bypassed the roll over valve. The return line from the carb that goes on top of the tank can just be plugged.

As for using hose I picked up two 6' sections of hard brake line from advance auto and ran my supply and return lines with that. I was able to hand bend them to fit the contour of the frame. I now only have a small section of soft line running from hard lines to the pump and tank. I think it cost $8 for each section of brake line and I had a $5 coupon. Since you only have a supply line now you would just need one, cut the flared ends off and fuel line will fit right over them. I attached them to the frame with insulated clamps. I guess you can pick up 2 and run your lies from your canister to the tank.
