Need to replace my fuel pump but dont know what PSI I need. I have a fuel injected AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l with the Clifford 6-8.

What v6? What FI? All factory? Add on?

We need so much more info? What was the donor vehicle? Is the pump in the tank or external? What part# is on the pump?

Most FI pumps are about 30 PSI. Give us all the info you can. help us help you... :chug:

Engine - AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l
FI - Mopar
All Factory - No
Add on - Yes
Pump is external, cant find a part number but I believe it was for a carb which might explain a few other issues.

Your profile says "AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l V6". that is why I thought you had a swapped in engine.

SO you have the Mopar SFI kit? Nice! The pump came with the kit, a carb pump does not put out enough pressure. You should be able to order a replacement pump from anyone who sells the kit.

Is it external or in tank?

The pump is external. I need to get this pretty quick as the pump is on its last legs. After is gets to hot it stalls out and then I have to wait about 15-20 min to start it again. I also can smell fuel at times but I cant find a leak anywhere. I will replace the rubber lines when I do the fuel pump.

I called Summit to ask about a pump, they said you need to call them tomorrow and they will get a hold of Mopar Performance to get a part # and price. Summits number is 800-230-3030

Thanks CJ, I will give them a call tomorrow.

Talked to Summit today, 156.00 for the pump and it will take 2 weeks to get it.

Has anyone run the Holley pumps with this setup? 2 weeks is a long time to wait.

Make sure all your rubber lines are fuel injection hose alot of people don't know that there is a difference. Standerd fuel hose will not stand up to the pressuse that fuel injection has.
