Hey guys, I have an '84 CJ. I'm gonna try and put the tank back in it this weekend, so I don't wanna have any surprises when I get out there!

It's a poly tank, with a CJ sender in the top with a large tank nut. This also has the main fuel line fitting and the return line fitting on it. Off the right side are the filler and vent fittings. On the top of the tank are two small, white fittings. Each is toward the center of the tank on either L and R sides. I'm getting the idea these were for emissions control, but I wanna make sure before it's all secure. Anyone know where they go? :dunno:

(I'll post a picture ASAP)

Thank you!

Vince

I had 2 extra 1/4" npt fitting as well.

As long as you have an outlet and return line plus the filler connections, you should be in good shape.

A pic would help, but are they hose nipples or female pipe threaded holes?

They are the roll over valves intrgrated into the 20 gal tank.
Part# J536 2541
They should be connected together and attached to the return line tubing going along the frame to the engine compartment, then connected to the top tube fitting on your fuel filter to prevent vaporlock on carbureted engines.
Check your seals Part#J536 0059. My seal broke trying to remove and replace the old hose.
Now if over fill the tank it leaks when I turn right.
I think the dealer may find the same valve listed for the YJ Part# 5360058 I'm sure about the seal # on the YJ

Hope that helps
